Machamer focuses on mothers and grandmothers because Virginia House is designed in her mother’s image of clean, neat, organized and family-oriented. The mother mentality inspired home allows the mothers to feel at home in an environment designed especially for them.”
Lisa is the founder and owner of The Virginia House. She is dedicated to improving the care of seniors who require moderate to maximum assistance with activities of daily living, including memory impairment. When her own mother was in need of an assisted living home, she realized there was a need for better care and a warmer environment for seniors. Inspired by her mother’s love for her family and the need for better senior care the Virginia House was created.
Lisa received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Old Dominion University. She also earned a Masters in Education from Virginia Tech with an emphasis in Cardiac Therapy and Intervention.
The best part of her job is seeing the smiles of residents and knowing they are happy with the care they are being provided. She and her team truly care about the wellbeing of their residents and strive to meet their needs while maintaining dignity and respect of the residents.
Lisa has been married to her husband for 30 years, and together they raised four children. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys walking the Noland Trail or biking through Colonial Williamsburg. She also loves spending time with her husband and their four children.
